Thank You Bonus Terms & Details for 2021-2022

In recognition for the incredible efforts of our nurses, HCTN has created one-time program to thank nurses who have been on the front-lines within our nation’s hospitals, nursing homes, critical access centers, and any other healthcare facility providing aid to others during the COVID-19 pandemic. HCTN thanks you all for your efforts and wants to show its gratitude to you for electing to work for HCTN during these difficult times.
Although HCTN will try to identify assignments in your preferred geographic location and specialty, participation in this Program does not guarantee (i) placement on an assignment, generally, or (ii) placement on an assignment in a preferred geographical location, specialty, or work schedule.
March 1, 2021 to March 1, 2022. This Program will automatically terminate at the end of Program Period.
- Travel nurses in good standing,
- Flexible on assignment locations, shift and specialty
- Compliance with the terms of the Contract Professional
- Agreement and applicable Assignment Confirmation Letters.
Bonus Amounts and Hours Requirements:
|Bonus||$3,000||Earned after 1,200 Eligible Hours, as defined below, worked during the Program Period|
|Bonus Kicker||$1,000||Earned after 1,600 Eligible Hours, as defined below, worked during the Program Period|
The following hours, if worked, qualify as Eligible Hours applied towards the total Eligible Hours needed to earn the Bonus and/or Bonus Kicker:
- Regular-time hours
- Overtime hours
- Holiday hours
- Guaranteed hours
- Call-Back/Call-In hours
The following hours, if worked, do NOT qualify as Eligible Hours and will not applied towards the total Eligible Hours needed to earn the Bonus and/or Bonus Kicker:
- On-Call hours
- Hours worked outside of Bonus Program Period (e.g. before March 1, 2020 or after March 1, 2022)
- Periods of non-work including, without limitation, scheduled time off
- Bonus, if earned, will be paid within fifteen (15) days following completion of the assignment in which you met the initial 1,200 Eligible Hours requirement, in accordance with HCTN’s normal payroll practices.
- Bonus Kicker, if earned, will be paid within fifteen (15) days following completion of assignment in which met the 1 Eligible Hours requirement, in accordance with HCTN’s normal payroll practices.
- If you do not complete the Eligible Work threshold(s) required to earn the Bonus and/or the Bonus Kicker, you will not be entitled to any pro-rata payments for Eligible Work performed.
- Bonus and Bonus Kicker, if and as earned, will each be paid in a lump sum via direct deposit, less all applicable taxes, withholdings, and permitted deductions.

Who is eligible for the “Thank You” Bonus Program?
Travel nurses in good standing who take an assignment with Health Carousel Travel Network (“HCTN”)
What about healthcare professionals working on a local assignment?
This program is specific to bona fide travelers working with HCTN. However, local clinicians remain eligible for any bonus offering available through HCTN Local.
What about hours worked outside of the Program Period?
Any hours worked outside of Bonus Program Period (e.g. before March 1, 2021 or after March 1, 2022) do not constitute Eligible Hours towards the calculation of the Bonus or the Bonus Kicker.
What if I work some of the Eligible Hours but not all Eligible Hours required to earn the full Bonus or Bonus Kicker? Can I receive a partial bonus payment?
No. If you do not meet the Eligible Hours threshold(s) required to earn the Bonus and/or the Bonus Kicker, you will not be entitled to any pro-rata payment.
Do I have to sign anything special or different to sign up for the “Thank You” Bonus Program?
No. All healthcare professionals accepting travel assignments through HCTN will be asked to sign the Contract Professional Agreement and an Assignment Confirmation Letter (collectively, the “Agreement”) per travel assignment. While all healthcare professionals must continue to abide by the terms of the Agreement during an assignment, there is no additional paperwork that must be signed to sign up for the “Thank You” Bonus Program.
The Assignment Confirmation Letter will contain verbiage related to this program.
What will the verbiage on the Assignment Confirmation Letter say?
You are eligible to participate in the HCTN 2021 “Thank You” Bonus Program (the “Program”), which Program will run from March 1, 2021 through March 1, 2022 (the “Program Period”). The terms and parameters of the Program can be found at: https://hctn.healthcarousel.com/thank-you-bonus-2021. By signing where indicated below, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and consent to be bound by the terms of this Program in order to be eligible for any bonus payment offered or earned as part of the Program.
What if I am already on an assignment and my Assignment Confirmation Letter does not contain this verbiage?
Don’t fret! If any Assignment Confirmation Letter during the Program Period contains this language, you are eligible to earn the Bonus or the Bonus Kicker. If any one Assignment Confirmation Letter doesn’t contain this language for some reason, that will not impact your eligibility status.
What if I am on an assignment currently and work Eligible Hours before I sign an Assignment Confirmation Letter with verbiage included?
Not a problem! Again, if any Assignment Confirmation Letter during the Program Period contains this language, you are eligible to earn the Bonus or the Bonus Kicker. And, any Eligible Hours worked during the Program Period will be counted towards earning the Bonus and Bonus Kicker, even if you worked them before you signed the first Assignment Confirmation Letter with this verbiage included.
